Help Japan through its artists
Men are very adaptable creatures. Even after catastrophic events, they can always regain their power and survive. And everything is much simpler if men help each other, not for mercy, but just because they want to give their support.
The Japanese population has recently undergone one of the most terrifying natural disasters of the contemporary history, but they have demonstrated a great dignity and an admirable behavior. There are a lot of initiatives in the world to help our Nippon friends. As far as we are concerned, we just propose to you to buy the products coming from Japan.
There are a lot of embroidery and female designers from Japan like R&D.M.Co who are the authors of the book
Boys and Girls, or Yukiko Ogura, Japanese embroidery teacher in
Broderie ruban - les points de base, and Ayako Otsuka with her
Chats et chiens à broder. We also have to mention Yoko Saito with her
Les Patchworks du Bonheur, the Japanese quilting by Yoshiko Jinzenji in
Simple Quilt and Masako Wakayama with her patchwork in
Sacs, accessoires et mini-quilts.
Finally, some months ago we have introduced in our catalog a Japanese enterprise that has suddenly conquered everybody's heart: the
Sun Felt specialized in
sweets and
buttons made with felt. The
Sun Felt is owned by the
Seven Islands, Inc. which has promoted a nice initiative, the “Quilt Drive for Japan”, valid until the 30th of April. They are actually collecting as many quilts as possible to send to tsunami's victims, through the Patchwork Tsushin. Participate by sending your personal quilt to:
