Born and raised in Japan, Kumiko Nakayama’s career began in a couture house – the realization of her childhood dream. Upon her move to France, she fell in love with what the French call the “Art of Living” and the art of Boutis. Her passion for Boutis led her to open her own boutique in Paris and she has taught this technique, and exhibited her work, all around the globe.
For over 20 years, Kumiko has been developing this art, constantly seeking out more intricate techniques to suit her designs. The impeccability of her craftsmanship, and the profound beauty of her art, attest to her expertise and to the name given to her – Kumiko, which means Eternal Beauty.
