The Japanese Kogin needlework was used in the past to reinforce the fabric of clothes, in those positions where they typically wear out. It was actually a "poor" mending solution, but definitely resulting into lovely "decorations" on the fabrics. The needles developed expressly for this kind of embroidery are about 2 1/2" inches long (7 cm approx.); strong shaft; large eyes and slightly rounded tips. They're ideal foror visible mending on knitted fabric and darning, too, because of the slightly rounded tips, made to pass between the warp and weft of the fabric without catching in the threads they way a sharp needle would.
Please note: these are not Sashiko needles!
This packaging includes two Kogin needles.
