The creations by Marie-Thérèse Saint Aubin
This year the third edition of our
Festa del Ricamo has had, among our several guests, the famous French designer
Marie-Thérèse Saint Aubin.
Maybe it's better to define her as an artist rather than a designer, as she is one of the very few creators all over the world who's capable of transforming the needle into a brush. During the weekend when she has been our guest, Marie-Thérèse has shown us her sketches: watercolors and pencil drawings which are per se real masterpieces. A lot of us would have loved to put these drafts on the walls of our homes!
Marie-Thérèse is famous for her drawings of insects, birds and cats. And this passion for nature pervades all her life, as she is teacher of natural sciences. Her look is actually not only artistic but also precise, technical and "naturally scientific"!
At the antiquities in Arezzo, Casa Cenina's town, Marie-Thérèse and her funny husband Patrick loved to buy some old canvas on which the designer wanted to embroider some new insects. All the charts by Miss Saint-Aubin are numbered because they are hand-maded by her, one by one. If her products are not available in our warehouse, you have to wait a few weeks, but it's worthed as you will own a unique product. And the signature of Marie-Thérèse is very particular: at the end of each chart she usually puts the samples of the needed threads. So you will be able to compare your threads with those suggested by the designer.
This little post just to pay homage to an artist who has turned out to be really gentle, elegant and amiable. Merci Marie-Thérèse
