Learn easily this Japanese embroidery
Originating in the Tsugaru region of northern Japan, Kogin embroidery was once used to reinforce fabrics and keep clothes warm.
Its special feature: the simplicity of this technique. In fact, the traditional motifs called "Modoko" are composed mainly of diamonds with an odd number of points. The ease of execution is such that once you master the composition of the motifs, you can embroider them without looking at the patterns!
Especially since the author gives you a basic step-by-step photo lesson to teach you all the key points of this embroidery: which threads, fabrics or needles to choose, how to embroider, and much more.
The author presents 20 traditional patterns, the most basic ones. But each embroidery pattern comes in 4 variations, with simple (repetitive patterns) and more complex (decorative patterns) combinations. You can encircle the patterns with a thick line, move the half patterns, overlap them, modify them, juxtapose them, combine them in many ways...
Plus: discover 4 original motifs (iron teapot, Itaya horse, little flower and polka dots), symbols of Kogin embroidery.
Just enough to stimulate your creativity and desire to embroider!
