The Quaker style by A Mon Ami Pierre
Un coeur en hiver is the latest product inserted in our catalog by A Mon Ami Pierre. Behind this brand we find Jackye, indipendent designer which creates especially counted stitch charts. Among her favorite subjects we can find old samplers and alphabets and patterns in quaker style. It is a type of decoration which is spread in France and easy to recognize as it is made of monocolor figures with some patterns, "cut from the fabric" like some medals. Here are some examples: Accessoires Quaker AMAP or the Chemin de Table Quaker or also the Victoria's Quaker. All the quaker samplers by A Mon Ami Pierre are generally made by some letters in Roman style and by embroidered boxes and decorated by geometrical elements, abstract birds and vases full of flowers. The name quacker is easy to explain: these decorations were embroidered a lot in the XVIII century just by the women of the Quaker community, especially in the Quaker Ackworth school in the Yorkshire, Great Britain. It is not by chance that the brand by Jackye is called A Mon Ami Pierre (to my friend Pierre), since quakers were also known as the "Friends' Society". And friendship is the main theme also of this chart, Un coeur en Hiver where a boy and a girl skate together in the middle of the winter.
