The origins of Bellpull

The term Bell pull (or its other name bellpull) referred in the Victorian period to a little mechanism which allowed rich English ladies to call their maids. By pulling this little rope, a bell in the kitchen was rung so that the maids could come the fastest as possible to their masters.
Today, of this mechanism only the little rope is still visible! So here is the reason why this embroidered fabric has the shape of a hanging band on a bell. Moreover, with bellpull we mean also the particular hangings for your works realized on bands and rectangular pieces of fabric like the following metal bellpull or wooden bellpull. With the shape of a beehive the bellpull by Just Nan and as much original is the Peweter for Alphabets byVictoria Sampler.
However the bellpulls are above all the embroidered bands like the Blooming Summer Bellpull with summer colors or theBountiful Autumn Bellpull with september nuances. Always about seasons, the Merry Winter Bellpull on winter theme and the Renewing Spring Bellpull on spring. And if you want to collect all the four seasons in only one embroidery, here is the Four Seasons Bell Pull.
