C&T Publishing: quilt and patchwork books

All in English and full of clear charts and detailed colored photos the guides on
quilt and patchwork by
C&T Publishing.
Casa Cenina has recently approached this American technique and we have studied a lot the different types of patchwork.
If you're curious about this art, the books by
C&T Publishing will introduce you in this world of small and large fabrics all to mix. But which are the differences by patchwork, quilting and piecing? Here are some explications for you:
- Patchwork: this name is about a real technique of putting together several little pieces of fabrics (alias patches) of cotton printed with several motives. The final work is a real masterpiece. Patchwork is actually a mere "work of patches".
- Quilting
: the world quilting refers to a particular patchwork technique and originally it was entirely handmade. Today we can use sewing machines both by following the several lines of the images created on patchwork and by freely using the machine, i.e. by following freely the lines or with some stencils as a support.
- Paper Piecing
: it is simply one of the several ways with which we can put the cotton fabrics together based on charts on which we sew some fabric pieces without cutting them before because the paper chart is a sewing guide and, by taking it off the fabric, you will have the complete figure already done!
As for patchwork, the ideal book is
The Practical guide to patchwork.
As for quilting instead we suggest
A Cozy Quilted Christmas.
Finally, on paper piecing the manual
Machine Quilting Solutions is very useful.
