Farewell, dear Marilyn

Date Added: 09/07/2012
Marilyn Leavitt-ImblumWe're going to close this week sharing with you the sad news - coming straight from the USA - that we learned just a few days ago and we think right and proper to dedicate the due space here, in our "Casa".

Just 3 weeks ago, after a long period of inactivity, probably caused by the terrible disease called "multiple sclerosis" (which she never widely publicized, actually) Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum died. As probably the majority of you already know, she was the founder and designer of three of the best known cross stitch brands in the world: Lavender & Lace, Told in a Garden and Butternut Road as well as the beloved mother of Nora Corbett from Mirabilia and of other five children, whom we'd like to send all our real closeness in this moment, even though just through this virtual mean which is the Net.

There are so many things we might say, to describe the varied activities and interests and the virtually infinite creative flair of this lady and great designer... However, as always artists prefer, after all, we'd like her works of art to speak for her, even more now, that she's not with us anymore.

Farewell, dear Marilyn, and thank you so much for blessing us with so many light-hearted moments of cross stitching and pure beauty! We'll miss you, though we can figure you out, up there in the skies, serene and surrounded by all those angels that your skillful hands of passionate designer were able to bring down here on Earth, too, with such delicate mastery

From the all of us here at Casa Cenina and, for sure, from the all of you who are reading.
