In the Anglo-Saxon world, “blue” is the color of sadness: so much so that they say “feel blue”, when they mean to express their sadness.
And all over the world, the third Monday in January is “Blue Monday,” or the saddest day of the year. However, this year there is some good to immediately counterbalance this “hard day”: namely, the International Hugging Day, which falls on Tuesday, the 21st, right after the infamous third Monday of this month.
